The Saudi Technical Institute for Mining was established as a non-profit institution in 2012 through a strategic partnership between the Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma'aden) and the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC).

It enjoys legal status and financial independence and aims to train and qualify Saudi youth to localize jobs in the mining industry sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
